America is today deeply divided, and it’s really scary. More so the division that is becoming evident on Facebook and Twitter, with alarming levels of dislike and disgust for people who have a different opinion, whether our friends from America or elsewhere. Here is sharing some thoughts from a social psychologist on how the division can be healed. The bottomline is: we all need to learn to live with differences, and even when we hate someone deeply, we need to be able to be empathetic towards them. I am not surprised that he finally refers to the wisdom of Buddha and Jesus as being more relevant today than ever before.
